I'm still checking the first library on my list. No luck so far, but given the primitive state of the catalog there's still hope.
Going here (Beast's Castle) first was a gamble based on the fact that Disney borrowed a lot from Robin McKinley's Beauty in adapting their version (or maybe they both borrowed from the same reality, I'm not sure how all these things actually worked). Anyway, I was hoping that the actual library portrayed in the film would work on similar principles to the one in Beauty and that because of the increased magic we see everywhere the magic wouldn't have faded when the enchantments were broken (as was implied in the book). (The library in the book contained not only all books written, but all books that would ever be written. I will confess to attempting to confirm this theory by looking for Cold Days. Did not find it, sadly.)
Anyway, while the library only contains books that have already been written, there is a large section of arcane texts and mystical lore, and I've been going through them. Unfortunately, they're some of the most neglected texts, so lots of dust. Most of them have preservation enchantments, so at least there's no mildew . . .
So tell me, how are all of you? How is my family back on Rainbow's End? How's my Ashlyn? Have Amy and Jalen started work on my next niece/nephew yet? Inquiring minds want to know!
